AT 3035 VS AT 4040

Humm, why are you only planning on using a booth for a while? And when the time comes that your no longer using a booth, your going to want a mic that doesn't pick up too much noise from your computer and etc.

Nah im mean ...i won't be using a booth anytime soon... like maybe make one when i move out in like a year.. but for now it has to cope with humming of fans n shit.

Yesss absense- it is the right answer. You need a *dynamic* microphone. The usual bunch of suspects- Shure SM7B, Sennheiser MD441, Electrovoice RE20. You don't want condensers in a room with fans.-Richie

Perhaps its the question that was lacking.......

all of the suggestions above and for the reasons indicated.

If you dont want a dynamic, id go with......................well, id go with dynamic.

May I suggest a dynamic mic?

Although, given the fact that in your original post, you stated that you were deciding between an AT 3035 and an AT 4040...

If those are your only choices, I'd go with the 4040 for a vocal-only situation.

But, I'd still suggest a dynamic, if that's an option.....

Jesus, I saw what happened to Roney King. That's what happens when you get beat up by a bunch of LA cops. This is what happens when you get beat up by a bunch of audio engineers.-Richie

Is the D900 a condenser? I always thought the 'D' stood for 'dynamic', like the 'C' in C1000S stood for 'crap'...?

Correct, Noisedude. All "D" designated AKG mics are dynamics.-Richie

Sorry it should have read C900.

I heard a guy last week doing simple Vocals and acoustic Guitar thru a nice JBL rig, he was using a C1000s for the vox, sounded pretty good to me.

Oh well is that Nursey calling me !!!

I already own a nice dynamic mic ....so i'll hook that up to my pre amp and try it in comparson to the Audio Tech... which ever one i choose.
