HI all
yes very newbie here. Pretty much up til now im 100% guitar recording mainly on four tracks but now i want to get a keyboard controller and start composing piano keyboard pieces first to the Apple Garageband then to Logic 7.
I had a Korg digital piano which was so nice and easy to play. What i dont get along with is keyboards without hammer action weighted keys. just cant use them. I would like to get a digital piano (say a Roland HP 170 or something) which has MIDI IN and OUT but im confuse. At some point i guess i will buy expansion modules or more keybards and want to drive them from the master (Roland). Would this kind of keyboard be good for a master controller or is there something im missing. As i said it has to be wieghted 88 notes and i really dont like the new 88 key master keyboard i tried last week... cant remember who made it but from what i gather its USB driven and quite new!
sorry if it's dumb questions. I guess i will be programming drum tracks, strings and orchestra arrangements on it too so does it have to have a certain amount of Polyphony and Mult-Timbral(ity)
Only other thing is, would the Edirol UA 25 be up for the job of what i want. ie using say the Roland but also recording Guitar and Vox?
Really appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance and sorry for any dumb questions
