Which Interface??

It sounds better, isn't PCI based (man that shit's dying) and has "decent" preamps on board.

Tis better...I've used both.

Looking at the poll, I'd say he was talkin about the Firepod.
Personally, I've used both the Firepod and own the FW1804, I wouldn't say either is better. If you check the specs they are fairly different, the 1804 has more flexability in terms of I/O, and the Firepod has 8 built in pres as opposed to the Tascams 4. And like War pointed out, the Delta is PCI based so that to me would also fall into a different category.
So I'd say none are better, just different.....

but if all the qualities are the same shouldnt i go with the M-audio becuase its cheapest

Actually if you read my post I didn't mention anything about the qualities in these units being the same. :confused:
Like I mentioned before, they're all different and have different feature sets, so go with the one that will suit your specific needs. If the 1010 has what you need and it's the cheapest, seems like a no brainer to me.

hmmm i guess i dont really know what i want


i just want the one that will give me the truest sound and the clearest quality????
 
Features smeatures - useless if the sound isn't up to par.

I'd say go with the one that has better convertors (I don't know which that is).

I can't really speak about the Delta 1010, but I didn't notice any difference in sound quality between the Firepod and the FW1804. Although, I did hear a drastic difference between the converters in the FW1804 and the Edirol UA700 I was using previously. So basically between the two, IMHO, figure out what features you need, then pull the trigger. :)

so really right now it has come down to the Firepod and the FW1804

and im leaning towards the FW1804 just because of its many features ...... is there any reason that i sound lean towards the firepod?
 
I'd go with the Firepod if expandability is not an issue for you and you're not intending to use any other pres, otherwise I'd go with the FW1804.

yeah in the future i plan on getting some other pres like the TAMPA and the DMP3 and so on
 
guys, just picked up a firepod today so in a few weeks hopefully ill have a nice review to post.

That's kind of strange statement, War. PCI is not dying anytime soon.
 
I think Warren was referring to PCI Express.....
Yes, it will eventually replace PCI.

BUT, PCI-X is backward compatible, and motherboard manufacturers will support PCI-x and PCI for 8-10 years....
(I did some reading up, as I just bought a 1010, and then found out about PCI being replaced!!) :D
 
the 1010 is just a straight convertor, no fuckin about with bells and whistles and built in crap pres. If you have either a decent outboard mixer or some GOOD stand alone pre's you don't need any of the other crap, the 1010 will do the job :)
