just wondering if i should use the track eq first and rely on the plug in eq's if i cant get the right sound with the track eq? i've never really used the track eq before and am not sure how well it works.

The track EQ is pretty rough and ready compared to a dedicated parametric EQ plugin. The track EQ works, but it lacks precision.
