4.55 metres = 15 ft
1.4 m = 4.5 ft
2.9 m = 9.5ft

the monitors (Fostex pm-1 mkII) will be place where the desk is, there are some other furniture like bookshelfs, etc.
thanks!

wow, I've been wanting to make a post like this for some advice on how to treat my room (as I have no clue where to start)

but I was just gonna draw a sketch in paint and maybe take some pictures.

Did you make that? Looks awesome.

yes, I was looking for a 3D room planner and I found Google Sketchup. once you get to know how it works, it's simple to use (though I had big trouble with moving that computer desk around :D )

I can't help you with your question (I have the same query) but I have to commend you on the diagram!

Agreed- man that diagram is teh sweet. I know that they make a sound barrier that attches to the back of a vocal microphone that should help with vox dampening.. that's about it as far as placement for me. Sorry.

OK, two firms (Auralex and polish Hi-Fi Acoustics) added their products to my plans. Here's what they are proposing, maybe it will be helpful for someone:

Dear Andrzej,

Thank you for turning to Auralex Acoustics, Inc., for your acoustical needs. I have attached a diagram of treatment suggestions for your project studio. The diagram is a top view of the room with the walls “folded out” showing specific placement of the suggested products. Please do keep in mind that the suggestions are prepared off-site, based on the information supplied, and the combined experience of Auralex Acoustics.

In your room, I have suggested a Project 2 Roominator™ Kit, which includes: (8) LENRD® Bass Traps, (24) 2” Studiofoam® Wedge 2’x2’ panels, and the necessary (5) TubeTak Pro Adhesive to affix it all.

The Studiofoam® Wedge Panels are placed as shown to reduce excessive reverberation. Notice that the panels are placed in a non-symmetrical, offset pattern across opposing walls to reduce slapback and flutter echo. The LENRD® Bass Traps are placed in each of the corners as shown to help reduce bass build up where it tends to occur most.

For the windows in your room, you might consider thick, dense curtains wide enough to fit loosely in front of the windows and have folds in the material when drawn. This can help reduce unwanted reflectivity. For the window on the angled wall, you may hang the bottom of the curtain so that it covers the window and does not interfere with your equipment.

Our ISO Series products can help isolate speakers, amps, and drum kits from the floor. Decoupling these instruments eliminates sound transmission and resonance that occurs when resting on a hard surface, which decreases discoloration and increases clarity. Check out our MoPADs™, GRAMMA™ Series, HoverDeck™ Series, and our Aural X•Panders™ for more information.

Be sure to visit our YouTube Channel for more information on installing our Studiofoam® products, particularly videos on TubeTak Pro Adhesive and Placement of Studiofoam® Product.

green colored are absorbing panels, blue = bass traps, orange = diffusor

I'm going to make my own panels behind monitors and make own bass traps (http://www.basstraps.net/DIY-BASS-TRAPS-MADE-EASY.pdf), buy panels for walls on the sides, and add some acoustic foam as on Auralex plans.
On the opposing wall there will be IKEA bookshelf like this

What do you think??

Pick a room and let's discuss what you can do to treat it.

You do not have enough treatment to do more than one room as it stands.

So pick one and we can talk.

Please refrain from adding diagrams and video...we only need the diagrams...
