Let's say I got a MPC2000xl and I got a track I want to sync up to my daw or even another sequencers clock. When I slave the MPC am I changing the timing up some even though it's the same tempo and sequencer. I gotta think that the snare just won't hit on the same 1, 2, 1, 2 as on the MPC2000 clock... Know what I talking about.

Reason I ask is cuz I have been tracking by syning shit using my DAW as the master... Seems like sometimes I loose some of the feel or something. I know my RM1X doesn't move like my MPC2000 cuz I had em synced up once and I gotta think my DAW doesn't clock like either one of em. Just thinking I should start salving my DAW.

Any opinions???

The timing should be right on. If you are doing a lot of quantizing and using samples then it may sound off because some sounds take a few milliseconds for the attack to really peak. That is common with bass lines and strings. In those cases you need to slide the track up a little so it starts the notes a touch earlier and fits better in the groove.
