Both these solos were not played by any member of KISS. I will leave you to look around the internet to find out who did them.
Although there are some Kiss songs that Ace didn't play on (Flaming Youth, anything on Creatures of the Night) he did infact play on both:
1. Detroit Rock City
2. I Stole Your Love

I can't really pick one specific solo but Jeff Loomis of Nevermore does an excellent job.

Ralph Towner: Solo Concert (whole album)
I also can't argue with Eddie on "Beat It," one take, at that point he was just on fire.
"Always With Me, Always With You" by Satriani, it's sentimental crap but I can feel it.
Hendrix on "Red House," he is on fire.

Adrian Vandenberg did some good stuff too, I'm just at a loss to say which ones right now, that CD is long gone.

Detriot Rock City = Dick Wagner
Wagner also played on some later KISS stuff. Wagner was brought in for the whole album when Ace was really drinking heavily. Wagner also played most of the early Alice Cooper because Glenn Buxton had the same problem as Ace.

"....1976 KISS Destroyer Guitar...."

From Dick Wagner's website. SOmewhere, there is an interview with Wagner and Hunter about the story of Destroyer.

100,000 Years by KISS

All Along The Watchtower by Jimi

Over The Mountain by Randy Rhoads

Ladies Night IN Buffalo by Steve Vai

Shortest Straw by Kirk Hammett

and anything by Angus Young in E, A, D or G.

And Ace Frehley played the solo on DRC NOT DIck.

Dick played the solo on SWEET PAIN.

Gene himself has stated at his website GeneSImmons.com that Bob Ezrin wrote the elad break, but it was in fact played by Ace on the album.

Dick DID NOT Play on MOST fo destroyer. Here merely filled in on one song. Thats it. ONE SONG, maybe two.

I am going to add a couple guitar players that get a little overlooked buy the country folk.

Brad Paisley
Vince Gill

Right you are! 'Twas Was Sweet Pain, and Flaming Youth that Ace did not play on. You can pretty much tell when a lead was not Ace. There were a few songs on later albums, also, but the only other one that comes to mind right now is Hooligan from Love Gun. There are also some tracks that Gene didn't play on, but he will never admit it. NEVER, NEVER take Genes word as truth. he lies to protect the Kiss "image" (is his mind Kiss is him and Paul). I have lost great respect for that asswipe in the last few years. He legally blocks Peters book, because it tells alot of "unknown" behind the "image" stories about ALL 4 OF THEM, but then puts out his own book that dogs only ACE and PETER, and makes him look like a perfect god. ...And, Gene, incase you read this...SHUT UP AND PLAY, I DON'T WANT TO BUY ANYTHING ELSE!!!!

BLASPHEMY!!!! BLASPHEMY!!!

Trying to say someone else played on Detroit Rock City!!!! PUH-LEEZ!!! I was SO dissapointed when I saw Kiss on the Creatures Of The Night tour and Ace wasnt there. Me and all my friends were like..."WERE'S ACE!!!!" Vinnie Vincent did take them to the next level though. He was cool. I never really cared too much for Bruce. He is a very talented player but I guess I just always associate him with their glam period. As far as Gene and Paul go...They own the name and rights to Kiss and they will never let you forget it. Paul is still rock and roll but Gene is the businessman. You know that he brought back Ace and Peter for the money and that is IT!!! He wasnt interested in burying the hatchet and all of that bull. Kiss with always be Ace, Peter, Paul and Gene to me, PERIOD!! The problem that Gene and Paul have is that they cant escape their past, they have tried and it didnt work. So, in the end they have tried to relive it. Its cool except when Ace or Peter is not with them and they hire someone else and that person puts on Ace or Peters makeup and costume. That to me is lame.

Lame to me, too, but I'm still going in Aug. Got tickets for me, the wife, and the kids. What is this power they hold over us to make us spend out money????

Right now I think the group is Gene, Paul and Peter and a guitarist by the name of Tommy Thayer who will be donning Ace's makeup and uniform. Tommy used to play in a band called Black and Blue back in the 80's. I think he was also in a Kiss tribute band called Cold Gin.
