What's a good USB Controller

using Adobe Audition currently and was about to by a Mackie ProFX12, but it's very unclear as to weather that will actually act as a usb controller or if it will just do the 2 channels out.

HALP!!!

A Mackie control Universal 8 or a Behringer Bcf2000 will do wonders.
