See Gidge, you let me know about the Audiophile, that is going to be my next purchase (if I ever get a damn job!)

yamaha dsp factory 229 bucks?

how does the dsp factory compare with these other sound cards
ive read the hype and if i went on the advice of yamaha's publisist i would be very confident of this purchase
what i want to know is how does tis stack up to all the rest of the like products out there, i guess because of the original list price of 1100 bucks not many of the fellow home recording junkies are using them.

heck im also interesed in getting a digital mixer to use for the digital i/o like the tascam tm-d1000 will they play together good is anybody using this setup?

I'm sure the Yamaha DSP Factory is a kick-ass card, but they seem to be closing it out (hence the ridiculously low price) and that probably means there will never be WDM drivers for it. Also, the DSP stuff is only useful if you can use it, and if they do close it out, are any software companies going to provide support of the DSP through AudioX?

Wow, www.marsmusic.com has the delta 44 for 229, thats a great buy.i was planning on buying it off ebay but thats the same price as the ones on ebay. And after the last deal i missed from outpost.com (199), I think ill have to just order this tommorow.
Thanks for posting that up.

now that i look at it again, it saids its out of stock, got all excited for nothing ;[

iravage- do you have a Guitar Center nearby? They match prices...

I'm sure Mars can get it in stock if you put in the order. E-mail them and ask. They'll do biznuss witchya.

Since I'm Canadian, I can't even order direct from Mars (or even Musician's Friend for that matter). When I e-mail, they simply refer me to their Canadian distributor who in turns gives me a massive list of dealers within Canada who have in stock what I'm looking for. Unfortunately, the price in $CDN "funny money" is always about 20% higher than the US price at the prevailing exchange rate. Some US sites will ship to Canada, but these are usually the actual manufacturer's sites (and these aren't typically the best place to get a deal).

Bummer.

i tried to get guitar center to match the outpost price a few weeks ago, they said theres no way they can match that, they said its less then buy it for (199), BUT i emailed mars music and they are getting a new shipment in, in like 2 - 3 weeks, so ill prob order it today and when it comes in ill get it right away.

LOL. They would have had to have pricematched it. Did you take a printout from Outpost at the time? They wrote their own Pricematching Policy, they should abide to it.

I actually called them on the phone and spoke to the manager of the store, i told him i had a print out. i dont know..., i guess theres a limit to much they will match. he said the best he could do was 249.00 i think, or maybe it was more. Oh and for those who interested mars music has the sm 57 with a mic stand and a cord for 79.99, good deal.
Andrew

That is a good deal.

You gotta be persistent :). If you really wanted it for that price you would have gotten it for that price. Nothing every hurts placing a little call to corporate hq :)
