At some point, I realized there wan't anything I really liked about my computer. After all of the tweaking, upgrading, modding, tweaking, upgrading, and more tweaking, it was still missing something.

While at the local autoparts store I stumpled upon my now most prized computer item....

Gently protruding from an unused drive bay, is my coveted 12 volt cigarette lighter. Never again will I have to search for matches. Never again will I have to spill zippo fluid on the keyboard. Never will I forget the looks on peoples faces when they ask me for a light.

And yes, it works.

And no, it doesn't crash the computer.

Makes a very satisfying 'Clunk' when it pops out too.

LMAO!

I also noted the post about the funky lights. I remember when I had two of these beasts running in my room, with all the printers and scanners and modems and hubs and power bars all the lights looked really cool in the dark. It kinda felt like a spaceship, sitting in my captains chair.

What I like most about my computer is the optical mouse I finally bought. I don't spend nearly so much time cursing my mouse when I'm playing video games, and I no longer have the hobby of scraping crap off of the mouse wheels inside with my thumbnail.

What's also great is that I have a real frickin' soundcard, and, my new machine hasnever gives me the blue screen of death, in over 3 months !!!!!! Kudos to the folks around these parts for setting me up and helping out with the new build.

Hmmmmmm.... well, I have a bunch of computers. Like kids, they are all different, and I can occasionally find different reasons to hate them. :)

On my main computer, I'm loving my new Liteon 52X CDR burner. This thing finishes a CDR almost faster than I can think about it.

On the Living room computer, what I'm liking is that it's now running through my 36" HDTV. Even though its going though a TV output, the lack of scan lines means that small text is now readable, if still fuzzy. Combined with wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, and lazy boy rocker, its a sweet combination. And porn sites look bigger & better than ever.

On my main studio PC, I'm liking the speed. Recently upgraded from a P3 933 to an Athlon 2200. Everything runs faster & smoother now. Cakewalk was never designed for this much power!

On my #4 games-only system, I finally upped the video card to an Athlon 7500, still behind the times but much better than before. With an Athlon 1.4, it can now play games at a reasonable speed.

On my old P3 laptop, I'm liking that my tenant just happened to run accross a surplus DVD/CDR combo drive at his job. He brought it home to put in his laptop, found it wouldn't fit, and then found it fit perfectly in mine! And the fool thinks he's getting it back....

And I guess that's it for Richnet news.
