Hey NL5 It seems that your work is very apreciated in this forum;), so I would like to hear some words from you about my mix. I like my mix but I need some feedback from the real word that let me know if I'm on the right or the wrong way.
Critiqs from other users are welcome too.

picadogrueso, I think your mix sounds great. I dragged your's and NL5's mix into Reaper and switched between the two to hear the differences. Yours seemed a little brighter in the high end. Both of them are great.

I'm still trying to the drums to atleast something acceptable to my ears. After hearing yalls mixes, I pretty much started over. When I'm done slaughtering the mix, I'll post it so that you guys can make fun of me.

All in all, how did we do as far as tracking goes? I know there were some problems with the drums. What about everything else? What can we do to improve our tracking?

I think your mix sounds good. I think the bass could use a bit more definition. The vocals are kinda thin and narrow. The overall mix is just a tiny bit "blurry" - a part of that is the OH tracks. I had a heck of a time with them, and was unable to really solve the problems they presented. My mix ended up fairly dark (as usual), but yours seems just a bit harsh - but take that remembering that I mix kinda dark and fat, so yours may be just fine.
 
Here is my take on the song. This is the second song that I've ever mixed in my life. The first one was another from this forum. So take it like the newbie that I am. :D I did a heck of a lot of things to the song. I added a second set of saxes with pitch shifted, added a sax part on the ending of the song, where the sax solo is. Sounded pretty cool! Added a couple of snare shots in the beginning of the song. Just messing around. Let me know what you guys think. :)

Well I know This is an old thread but i didn't find other songs to mix lol


This song was my FIRST EVER MIX Ive done.... I usually record my guitar with back up tracks but nothing more than that.... Please Let me know what you guys think of my mix.


I know it probably isn't that great but i want other to tell me my falls so i can improve.
