I'd like to thank deepwater as well. My 8.2As just (i mean just!) got here!

And first of all... they LOOK SO COOL! Its too bad my auralex mopads cover up that cool blue light tho. ;)

So far they sound amazing I'm going to leave a bunch of music running on them when I go to work.

Thanks for the fast shipping--looks like they got here in tact and everything.

i've been reading a lot of good things about these Wharfedale's. Can someone give me an honest comparison to some higher end monitors? I want to get some monitors really soon but i'm just not sure how much i should spend. i guess my high limit is $800 for a pair.

How do they compare to KRK V6's, Tannoy System 600A's or Mackie MR624's? i think i can find a used pair of any of those for around $800. I'm leaving my comparison to other 6 inch drivers. Although the Tannoy's are different because they are coaxial.

From what I've been told the Wharfedale 8.2A stand head-to-head with the KRK V6. I own a pair of the RP8s and I use my Wharfedales 90% of the time. One of the best monitors you can buy for under $1000.00 and they only cost $275.00

I don't have any experience with high end monitors like Adams or Blue Sky but
at the benning of this thread was a testimonial from John with Massive Mastering and he said they were the best deal under $1,000 and a steal at $275.

I absolutely love them so far!

Thanks again David for the service and the good deal to your friends here at HR.com

IMHO, better then the mackies, buy a sub and you're only inches away form the blue sky. Neevr heard ADAM. but damn, do you knwo what they cost?

Not exactly but there is this saying that if you have to ask...you can't afford them that applies to me on the Adams.

hey lemon tree, you've said that you have remixed songs with your Wharfies. I was wondering if we could hear the comparison of before warfies and after? Thanks!

my turn to vouch for Wharfedale's...

After many late nights researchin mons for my project - I've come to the conclusion that the Diamond Pro 8.2's are for me. For my limited budget, they will be the best value for my dollar.

I just ordered mine, and will follow up with a review later - but, so far - the Wharfedale rep has bent over backwards to help with a unique delivery issue. That - in addition to countless webpages, and opinions of those who know... I can't wait for them to get here!

For those interested, contact the wharfedale rep:

davidwebster@bellsouth.net

You won't be able to beat his price - I tried through hours of surfing.

Does anyone know where you can get these in Australia - or even better Adelaide? Would like to compare local prices and give them a listen.

i'm joining the club.

the more i looked into it they just seemed like the right monitor for me

Either this is the best marketing campaign to hit HR or I am just a sucker for the hype, but I am aboard. I'm tired of the endless hours of researching and dealing with the fools at Guitar Center.
Sent you an Email Mr. Deepwater.
Does anyone know how this compares with the smaller Wharfedale 8.1?
I don't think I will ever get in a position to be able to play the 8.2's as loud as they could be played.

Well Mine are ordered and I will be home to play with them tuesday. I can't wait! Thanks David and Deepwater Audio!

I'm not sure about the 8.1's, but I know that you can check out the difference in the specs here:

http://www.wharfedalepro.com/pdf/dia_studio_4pg_0104.pdf

That's the brochure for the monitors from wharfedale's site. I hope that helps.

I got mine from deepwater - the whole transaction took just 5 working days, and they are fantastic. I have had to remox several things, because the speakers give me a truer picture of the sound.
So, it is definately not hype and deepwater is great to deal with, and the 8.2's are worth it!

I agree with Hurmph... searching for monitors sucks! Especially on a budget. Hey DEEPWATER! Wherever you are.. lol. I see you're saving everyone about 40 bucks on the 8.2's (340 on the net, 300 through Deepwater)... So how much are you offering the 8.1's for? (250 on the net(no tax.free shipping)).. and remember.. Im on a budget! :D

First, I would like to say I am new to this forum and think it is an excellent resource. I am look for a set of monitors. I was thinking about getting the Truth B2031P until I found this forum. It looks like the Wharfedale 8.2 Passives would be a much better choice. The behringers do have a larger woofer, so how does the low end compare? I have an SAE amplifier to drive these speakers. Deepwater can you send me the price for a set of passives shipped to PA?

I haven't heard the Wharfedales myself yet, but I have worked with some different Truth monitors. In general the Truth monitors are regarded as a much higher class monitor than the Wharfedale's, but should cost quite a bit more. From what I hear from others on here, the Wharfedales sound pretty good. Even better than that, they are very affordable. If you can afford the Truth's, I would do my best to try and compare them to the Wharfedale's. My gut says that the Truth's will sound better, but once again, may cost three or four times as much.

My bad. I didn't catch the fact that you were referring to Behringer. There is a good monitor manufacturer out there called Truth Audio. Now my gut says buy the Wharfdales for Deepwater and don't look back.

The 8.1A are $205.00 plus shipping which is around $20.00 which saves you around $25.00
