Oh....and "Git yer Ya Ya's" might be their best album, period. It's certainly one of the best live albums ever, mistakes and all.
 
I love the title. I think the vocals are terrific. I agree the snare is a little dull sounding. Also I feel like the high hat needs more reverb. This sounds really polished and is a very good song. Sorry no opinion on the Carpenters.

I just erased my drum track. Now I have no choice but to re-record it. Same with some of the vocal lines. Gone. This song could be so much better. Next time, after letting a song sit for a few weeks, I'll listen BEFORE posting. I shouldn't have posted this yet. Oh well, you all got see a "work in progress"...for free!!!! :D

I'm just editing out the whole thing about the message I got. Now that I know who it is, it makes it meaningless. Not even worth mentioning at this point.

Very cool man, love the triplets on the kick. What processing are you using on the vocals? they have a lot of depth to them.:D

Thanx man. Not much processing on the vocals. One compressor and some Eq'ing and a touch of delay. I have a mic I love (Se Electronics se2200a 2 C), so it shouldn't need much processing. If I spent money on a good mic and still needed to put it through 18 compressors, 3 Eq's, 4 de-essers, and whatever else, then I'd wonder why I wasted money on such a good mic. The weak link in my vocal chain is my voice. :D

So the link in the OP is the retracked version then? That's what I listened to.

Seems really solid. I can't really think of any notes.

Yeah, when I change things, I replace the file. So, the OP link is the current one. All I did was re-track the drums and re-sing 2 or 3 lines. Thanx a lot. :cool:
 
Cool. Sounds good. I still have the original, so I can compare the two.

I thought the tune was great. I think the instruments sound really good....I wouldn't mess with the snare...it's a great snare sound IMHO. I didn't hear anything that I would change actually. It's a fantastic recording as is.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it I say!

I was anticipating a Bon Jovi cover. Then read the title a little more closely. :)

Looking for something upon which to improve and finding it difficult.

Love the drum sounds. Kick is super tight. Cymbals sound awesome.

Like the guitar sounds. Maybe a small amount of a small room reverb when it does those quick solo riffy things?

Vocal sounds great.

Just leave it alone at this point.
