"Holy thread resurrection, Batman!"

Aren't some of the older compressor's with transformer's considered better because when you saturate them a little they have a different effect and usable instead of say the 160a's that have less components insdie the box.
Thanks,

"Better" is subjective in this case. I'm also not totally clear on what you're hinting at here, either. Can you explain?

(Wow, six year-old thread)

Ha!:D "Holy thread resurrection, Batman!" indeed!!:D:D

That thread takes me back, all 6 years back!:D;) I especially get a kick out of question #2: "why, technically speaking, do many things "analog" sound "nicer". I know they do but WHY ???". Too funny!:D

BTW, thanks pianodano..;)

Hi Daniel.

Symetrix 525. I still have one that I bought new in 1985. Valley People and Compellor are also pretty reasonable and were used everywhere in the day.

I was going to suggest the Symetrix 525 and the 522. I still have a 522. I also like the FMR 1773 RNC... I have one of those too.

Anyway, Happy New Year 2004 to all. I'm not looking forward to it, being an election year and all. Expect the usual mud slinging until November. I think it depends a lot on whether we're still in Iraq come November. Or at least whether we’ve completely kicked their asses found those WMD’s and have Saddam serving a life sentence in the federal pen with Noriega. If we get bogged down and don’t find the WMD’s, the Dems (Most likely Kerry) may have a shot.

There is some good news… ABBA is supposed to have a reunion tour this year, but they’ve said that before and it hasn’t happened. We’ll see.

My vote will go to Dean. I think he's really something to "scream" about... ;)

Yeah, as long as he doesn't do somethin' goofy in the next month or so he may give Kerry a run for his money.

I can see Dean going places... and not just New Hampshire, but South Carolina, and Oklahoma, and Arizona, and North Dakota, and New Mexico. Maybe California, and Texas and New York, and South Dakota and Oregon and Michigan. Maybe even to Washington DC to take back the White House. I mean, you never know. ;)

People can't see my reflection in a mirror... if that's what you mean.
Didn't mean it this way.
But, as far as I'm concerned, your sharp-eye observation Hits The Target perfectly from a diffrent angle :D

Diffrent faces, diffrent team-colors, diffrent slogans - same goal, same action, same result.

"We The People are Free" To Cheer as the Ball slips through.

At the end, We The People, get to keep the Hole In The Basket.

I just got a PCB for this and am slowly acquiring parts. Should be able to build for anywhere from $100-400 depending on transformers, case, etc...

Also, there are various DIY of various complexity and price, gyraf.dk or picocompressor.com (the latter indicates sold out, and I didn't get a return email from the sales staff.)
