Venejer New Songs, Please Tell us what you think.

whats up guys,

It's been a long time since i posted here, hopefully some of you will remember my band and the mp3s i showed you a long time ago.

Well, I just wanted to invite you to listen to some other new songs we have up... all of them home recordings, go here

http://www.myspace.com/venejer

Listen to them and let me get some feedback on how you like them...song structure, style, dynamics, etc.

*rememeber they are fairly rough drafts, some of them are missing bass tracks and vocals.

I'm the lead guitar player in the band, so complimments and bashing on the solos are welcomed.

Btw.. we are gonna go in the studio this month and record our first EP with Billy Livesay and Steve Gordon ... if you guys like their work, speak up ;)

*Billi Livesay is the guitar tech for bruce springsteen.(lead tracks)
*and Steve I havent really heard of him.(rythm tracks)

Thanx for reading.
Peace
Jose.

C'mon now.. say something at least, dont just listen and go away.

Most people like a tune to review, I am one of those people.

I am listening to an mp3 on your site now.

You do the "soft loud" thing.

One thought is that the lead guitar in this recording is holding the body of the rythym up and when you go soloing it leaves the whole vibe of the song dead in the water and lonely.

These mp3s are bad (encoding) but I would be very interested in the final recordings if you are allowed to post more that a 30 second clip.

See ya then.

anyone else?

this crap of begging and not offering insights to others has to stop :p

Thin gtrs on "vice" and really thumpy, muddy drums.
The singing is pretty off key too, like trying to emulate a style, but not able to.

"Dust" is the same mix problems. Sounds very home brew....more like a couple mics thrown up BUT at least not overloaded into the recorder...then added the kareoke kinda singing. Completely different planet between the vocals and instruments.

Guitar playing is pretty cool, but the recording quality really brings it down quite a bit. Watch those string bends... gotta bend to the right note, and not just bend for bending sakes.

Thanks for taking the time to listen man. And i really appreciate the comments on the singing and guitar playing, but I would really like to know where did you find those wrong bendings?... I know theres a fuck up on Blame, at the the end of the song...which is pretty obvious I went # for a second and tried to fix it. But I think thats the only one... and I just dont bend for the sake of bending.

then again thanx for taking the time to listen.
Peace
Jose

listening to Vice.

The quality of the recording is poor. The guitars have no beef to them at all. The vocalist is way off. The lyrics seem decent, but I can't hear them very well. I absolutely hate the kick drum sound. It sounds drumagogged, or you just mixed it waaaaay too loud. Either way, it was a poor choice. It doesn't sound anything like the rest of the kit.
