VC6Q........British channel???

I just picked up a VC6Q NOS for $300.00..........This is the Made in England..........Fletchersonics.......... Fletcher's signature is on the front panel............green -w- black letters..........pre.....comp ..eq. I have not yet had a chance to use it ......but are these products now made in China............ Did I do OK??? Any input on this unit in general...........Is it good for acoustic guitars.......piano .......overhead for drums.............. DI for bass or guitars............I have a VC3
that I have used to good effect.....................Any input????..........Thanks

It is.........a .....usable...........front end..... for .......home ....................................................................................................recording.......price is o.k..................................not a steal..........but.....not.......bad
 
I had a chance to use it this afternoon.................It worked out OK.

I somehow feel that in regard to "quality", apart from maybe the early JM gear, the place of manufacture is somewhat irrelevant.

i strongly disagree with that statement.
if you have a trained eye the difference between
a/something made by workers who are paid by volume and don't know what they're building
and
b/trained technicians who manufacture hi-end audio equipment

is quite obvious.

most of it is ........................... in .....the ....quality of the ....... joints.
 
You can disagree as strongly as you like, but it doesn't mean you're right :rolleyes: .

You obviously either missed or chose to ignore the "thrust" of my comment because it certainly wasn't refering to the soldering prowess of one manufacturer compared to another, I'm sure you're well aware there's much more to "quality" than that.

As if someone's ability to put parts together is even slightly connected with their nationality :rolleyes:

It's either good or not ... and some of that Fletcher stuff has a whiff of home-made soldering projects about it - regardless of what it sounds like. I was playing a Korean Koa Strat the other day and it plays as nicely as any of the Jap or Yank models ... I guess Fender's QC department forgot to check the workers' passports before deciding how good it should be? :rolleyes:
