Value of Les Paul studio Gem series?

A friend has a Les Paul Studio Gem Series (emerald) he wants to
sell, but I'm not sure what it is worth & don't want to over pay.

It is in good condition, not much for wear, exept the head stock had damage to the finish that a local shop said would be $100 to fix. It come with a gibson case.

SO whats one of these puppies worth?

I've seen one I considered buying at a GCenter for $650. Fine condition, but the neck felt a little 'clubby' (like too fat) compared to my standard, so I passed.
