Over the past couple months, posts have come up of people talking about transformerless pres being faster to respond. I love the meaty sound of the great river type pres and hope to add one to my collection soon.
What does everyone use a Great river type pre on?
Vocals and guitars and bass come to mind, but would the idea of it not being fast enough come up for drums. I would like my snare and bass to be a little thicker, would the great river do the trick, or isn't it fast enough to get enough detail. Does anyone use that kind or pre on drums?
