Cough, cough, hack, hack.

I'll guarantee both of these recorders will just wreak of smoke on arrival.

Notice that the head lifter doesn't lift the tape fully away from the tape on FF/RW ?? That's a bad sign. Not only doesn't it lift completely, but think of all the excess head wear you're getting on FF/RW. I probably don't have to emphasize how smoke over the long term will absolutely ruin the rubber parts on this kind of machine.

I give this guy more credit for adding a pretty complete functional test in video form. Most sellers just tell you it works until you get it and find out it does'nt
