US 2400 users?

How does this unit work outside of the short list of software specifically supported by Tascam? Is it a dead duck?

I'm thinking about Adobe Audition 1.5 / 2.0 or Mackie Traction 2. Does the controller have a general HUI or Mackie Control emulation, or does that work only for specific software packages that also use HUI or Mackie Control?

i have my us 2400 in perfect sync with ptm7, it works flawlessly,, system:
dell 4600c/p4-2.8 ghz
1 gig ram
native firewire port(TI)
native usb port

you can assign 6 banks(8 faders per bank) with ptm7and the learning curve is pretty basic if you understand it(us 2400) is not what it kind of appears to be, it is by no means an analog mixer, though it can funtion like one, it works with what ever daw you are using pt,sonar,dp, or logic, you can assign the encoders for pan, aux sends or effects sends, and will probably do a whole lot more than what i would know,, they are going anywhere from $600 to $800 all over the web,, well worth the money,, B.b.

It's supposed to work without problems with pro tools, so if you're talking about pro tools m-powered, I'd expect it to be transparent. My question is what happens if you try it with something not listed as a supported format?

I just don't know enough about this stuff; Tascam doesn't ever respond... I'll just have to find one and explore it.

hey, sorry i misunderstood the question in your post,,,,,, i would feel comfortable saying, that this unit would probably work with any daw that supports HUI or mackie control,, only seems logical,,
