I'm looking for an UPS that doesn't beep while drawing power from its battery (or recommend a different device that will accomplish what I need)

I want to do laptop recordings some of which will be away from an outlet. While the laptop can be powered by its own battery, I need some other device to power:
Mixer: 18.5x2VAC/620mA
Mic. Pre.: 9VAC/1300mA
Sound Card: 5VDC

Monitoring will be on headphones.

Half an hour of run time would be enough.

What mixer and pre?

There may be another alternative.

mixer is Yamaha MG10/2
pre is Behringer MIC100

even though you didn't ask:
notebook is IBM Thinkpad T40
microphone is Studio Projects B1
sound card is Creative Labs Audigy2 NX

What could you possibly setup and record in 30 minutes? Your best bet is a battery operated preamp.

Go to an outdoor leisure/camping outlet and get a battery pack/inverter. Basically a car battery with an Inverter that generates your AC voltage. The whole thing can be recharged either from a vehicle 12Volt supply (when the engine is running) or from an AC outlet. All you will have on it are some status indicators, no beeps.
BTW - They're very heavy due to the lead/acid battery.

If you really wanna use a UPS, you could always buy one grab your screwdriver and get rid of the little piezo speaker. You'll void the warranty but it won't beep once you yank it out.. :D

If you've got a Thinkpad T40, why do you need a UPS? I mean, that thing will run off of battery for like a week. OK, that's an exaggeration of course, but it has quite a battery life.
