Unpossible!
I have two hopefully easy questions.

First, my #1 track, when solo'd, doesn't output any audio. This happens on every project I do. If I solo any other track with it, then they both play. It also works fine in the mix. Anybody have an idea?

Second, is there a way to reset an automation track. By that, I mean remove all the little automation "points" leaving a straight line again? Or, just remove some of the "points"?

Thanks!

Not sure about question number one, but for the automation, can't you just delete the automation track and then open a new instance of that particular desired automation lane?

I dunno, that's why I asked! LOL :D

I'll try that. Thanks!

...

you can delete the little points manually, select them and hit delete.
control and shift clicking will also let you select groups of points. they can even be random separate ones from all over the track if you use ctrl.

also, you can run as many automation write passes as you like thru a song, you can go thru each track and each effect separately, over and over till you get it right.

you can do it with both read enabled and write enabled, but if you plan to make specific and slight adjustments i would leave read off as you make the passes. if read is on it will make the controls jump all around and its hard to catch a fader on the go.. :)

i was kinda trippin at first about not being able to just reset or delete the automation with one command or button (at least i never found one either..) but you can always select the whole group and delete it. problem solved.

i like just leaving write on and going thru a few times. it won't even touch the stuff you did on previous passes unless you do something to change it. handy.

good luck.

You can highlight an automation track and delete all the points at once, but that does not necessarily leave you a reset automation lane. What it usually does (if I remember right) is leave you an automation track that references what was the first automation point. For volume for instance, you have a track that starts at -10 and has fades all over the place. When you highlight and delete all envelope handles it just sets the whole track to -10 rather than the default of 0. By right clicking the information (inspector) bar of the track and removing the track and then reopening a new one it sets your automation track to the program defualt.
