Trump on Trial!

Okay, I've not followed it closely, not playing dumb. I know it has something to do with payments to Stormy D, and allegedly campaign finances, but what is the crime, the wrong doing?

I did see where Cohen stole/embezzled 10's of thousands of dollars from Trump, and they're saying that is a more serious felony than what Trump is on trial. I don't know, that's what they're saying. And Cohen is the star witness against Trump, an admitted liar & thief, former lawyer now disbarred whose sole source of income is derived from dishing dirt on Trump, making millions?

You forgot the conflicted judge's daughter... and his obviously biased history...

I guess nobody can clear up what law was broken, and how.

I did hear something about the money that was paid to Stormy D was personal cash, but justice said you can't pay off whores to keep their mouth shut with personal cash when there's campaign money available....or something like that. Oh, and paying off whores with campaign money would also be illegal, I think. Crazy, you can pay a whore to be a whore but you can't pay a whore to keep her sleezy trap shut.

There is foul play on both sides and everyone with common sense knows that.

Doobie, the charges against Trump in this case are whether Donald explicitly knew that funds were being used with his express and knowing consent to pay money from his account to silence bad media and, ( what would being Felony charges) if he DID know and authorize these financial transactions knowingly that that they were used illegally from a campaign account and the (34?) subsequent felony charges that would entail.

But the 34 Felony indictments are moot if jury doesn’t find him guilty of knowingly authorizing payments to ‘hush’ bad press and consent that the payments were specifically for that purpose.

A bit contrived yeah?

It seems curious, at best, that more than a few of these charges against Trump are novel interpretations of the law. Coincidence? I have my doubts.

He common sensely did but the trial common sensely is a political ploy. The latter bothers me more than the former. Way more.
And dare I mentioned Bill Clinton and his escape from lying under oath to congress (perjury) and obstruction of justice charges, both of which he evaded by a plea agreement his last day in office.

All of the Trump hating rhetoric tries to desperately undermine the cards on the table: love or hate, do you want Kamala Harris running our country or Donald Trump? Without emotional subjectivity, who is the more-qualified candidate?

'preciate it.

But Cohen has said differently in the past, not campaign funds?

I don't know, sounds pretty convoluted to me. Truth, I haven't been following it. Seems the drone of get Trump...for something. Anything. I think when it boils down to it that's what it is.

That’s what it is. Since he announced his intent, the game has been “Get Trump”.
From day one, full frontal and covert attacks.

“Stay in your lane, boy! You’re not allowed to play in our DC sandbox”

Brother, there is no honesty in politics. Which is/are the better liars to run the country is what it comes down to.

And it should never EVER be an emotional likeability contest which is where so many people get it wrong.

The indictment centers on allegations that Trump falsified internal business records at his private company while trying to cover up an effort to illegally influence the 2016 election by arranging payments that silenced claims potentially harmful to his candidacy. It includes 34 counts of fudging records related to checks Trump sent to his personal lawyer and problem-solver to reimburse him for his role in paying off a porn actor who said she had an extramarital sexual encounter with Trump years earlier.

“The defendant, Donald J. Trump, falsified New York business records in order to conceal an illegal conspiracy to undermine the integrity of the 2016 presidential election and other violations of election laws,” said Assistant District Attorney Christopher Conroy.

As I understand it the supposed falsifying of business records even it were real is a misdemeanor the statute of limitations had already expired on with the caveat that unless it was in furtherance of a more serious crime. The current political persecution kangaroo court is based on the claim that it was election interference.

Seriously? Illegal conspiracy to undermine the integrity of the election...."and other violations of election laws"?

Can you dumb it down and put it in your own words so I could possibly better understand the wrong doing? Maybe add some clarification, I mean in your own opinion, of course. If no money changed hands and Donald Trump politely asked Stormy D to kind of keep quiet about, you know, whatever, would that have been an "illegal conspiracy to undermine the integrity of the election"?

I'm not playing dumb, throwing bombs or setting a trap to "hypnotize" anyone. I'm just trying to better understand the justification for what many people believe to be the courts attempt to undermine the 2024 election. Should be a high bar, yeah?

Same as always - "Mean tweets", "Orange Man Bad", the firm conviction that a senile, corrupt, profiteering pervert with about 10 minutes experience in the private sector followed by a 50 year history of accomplishing nothing in public office who's happy to perpetuate the fraud that he's anything but a puppet taking orders and shilling for crap policies is the best choice.

Orange man is bad. He's a pathological liar. He thinks it's ok to sexually assault women. He tried to overturn the results of an election. All true. All bad.
