Too cold for recording?

Hi all,
So my studio has been coming along quite nicely this fall. I only recently got into analog and I'm having a ton of fun with a Tascam 388. I have a concern, though, as winter is getting on. My studio is not heated at night and while I live in a temperate climate, it gets below freezing sometimes. I searched the 388 manual but couldn't find- anyone know what is cold cold for this kind of machine to be sitting in overnight?

Basically the machine works well in the same temp you do. That's what I've heard anyway. As long as you turn it on and let it warm up you should be good. However, you don't want condensation building up.

Yes, that's right. The components themselves are fine down to very cold temps...the critical factor is when it is moved from one extreme to the other. You want to allow it to warm up slowly. Like, it wouldn't be best to take it from a freezing environment into room temp, and then turn it on and use it...in this situation you could put a big comforter over it so it can aclimate slowly and then after awhile turn it on and let it warm up.

I got to thinking about htis. It probably wouldn't hurt to remove rubber pieces and store in a more even environment, caveat, make sure all the screws washers etc are stored together. I'd think that some temperature extremes might be harder on those parts.
