Thinking of buying a mixer, one question.

Hey guys I am going to buy a M-Audio Delta 44 and a mixer soon.
Now the mixer is a Yamaha MG16/4, 4 bus.
I assume this would be a good mixer for use with my sound card.

My question is for anyone with experiance with this or a simular mixer.
How do you assign a chanel on the mixer to a output?

Is it a button that sellects a group and then you pan it left or right?
I guess thats two questions.

Well I bought the card (Delta 44), and am saving for the mixer.
The dude at GC showed me how to hookup and use the Yamaha MG16/4.
So I guess I'm set unless anyone has any further help or Ideas?
