Ha!!!! He doesn't have a clue what a hillbilly is man....He needs to make a trip to my neck of the woods, Deliverance-ville, USA to see some real hillbillies.....

Here's my neighbors across the street when I get the DSL warmed up pretty good:
Holy shit, man. I love classic stuff because I'm a bit of a history buff. This is awesome.

It's so.................American. :)

---------- Update ----------

Hey Rami, you play through a Fender Super Champ, right? Is that the XC, or X2, or some other variation?

I got the X2. Why? You got a problem?

:D

I'm sure you know who these folks are (those who don't, this is the Hatfield clan, from the Hatfield/McCoy feud), but all the shit that happened between these families was about an hour & 1/2 drive from where I live. The last place I worked wasn't too far away from Grapevine Creek (the last fight/battle of the feud)...So yes, I'm definitely a hillbilly...:)

Yeah, get outta here with that amp!

Kidding, I was just bragging on you in a Facebook group where somebody was looking for an amp that could go from bedroom to stage. I couldn't remember which flavor of SC you had, but I knew it was one of them. With the extension jack, I bet that thing could hold its own in a band situation.

uation.
maybe .... depends on the band.
It's 15 watts ........ thru an efficient speaker that'll put out some volume .......

I mostly use my Blue Angel these days when I get an amp gig.
I usually end up running it at 18 watts for low level gigs but in band situations I generally run all 4 EL34s for 33 watts and I find a loud drumber can cover even that.

But for a lot of gigs 15 watts should do it.

I got to be honest. I wouldn't recommend the amp. I've managed to squeeze out a couple of ok rythm and lead sounds out of it, but it's a modelling amp, which has a lot of limitations and quirks. There are some nice clean sounds, but most of the distorted sounds are so-so mainly because they're more or less sims in an amp. They modeled some sounds from Marshall, Mesa, etc....but none of them sound great unless you combine it with the software that allows you to mix and match cabs and amps, like any sim would.

The thing I hate the most about it is that, with all the heavier sounds, there's exactly zero difference between having the gain on 2 or having it on 9. It's pretty much the same sound until you get the gain down below 2.

If I knew when I bought it, I would have gone for something else. I still might.

Yeah I bet that there wouldn't be a lot of clean headroom with it, but maybe for dirty rock gigs it'd pass muster.

I think that as far as a small amp goes, you've got some great tones out of that little thing. Sure it may be a little boxy, but I think that any 1x10 is gonna be that way.

So...new amp? Oooh, I smell some vicarious shopping coming on! Whatcha gonna get? :)

Ok, so I made a video. Seeing as we're all hanging out in here, I thought I'd share it with you guys first. It's not finished yet, I'm waiting for some clips from Armistice doing the vocal and I want to get our lass on doing the other vocals.

The vid was done using the 30-day trial version of Sony Movie studio. This is my absolute first try at video editing; if I can do it, anyone can. :D

The editing interface is kind of like a cross between Reaper and photoshop. You have as many video and audio tracks as your processor can manage. You can place and edit the clips any way you want, but the clips higher up in the list have priority over the ones lower down unless you make them more transparent, kind of like Photoshop layers.

Anyway, what do you think of it so far? Watch in HD, it's much better.

Doing the video mixing in here is bollocks. Do it in the video mixing clinic.... oh, wait.

Looks cool actually? Is it really that easy to use?
I can't spot anything that's really badly synched - it all seems to match up well enough.

I suppose its suits the style - but you've gone a bit mental on the kind of psychedelic sunbeam effect - maybe tone it down a bit next time!

Fucking videos!

I think you did a great job. I'm not quite sure that's the song for a video though. It's gonna have to be a kick ass video. It needs a lot more stuff.

Ok, I deserved that. :D Yes, the editing really is that easy - it was more trouble getting my camera clips into 16:9 format than anything else. The render was extremely slow, too - need to find out why. I will tone down the FX a little, I wanted an underwater sunbeams feel. I think it does the trick but as you say, it's a little severe in places. :) The guitar clips are a tiny bit early in the sync - I'll sort that for the final version. I want a different angle on the kit, too.

haha, I didn't give a fuck!

My mrs does a lot of video (she's a producer in the BBC NHU). I think the reason that the render was the slow might be down to it actually normally taking that long. She shoots in HD and 4K and they often leave renders running and bugger off for lunch - that's in a pro edit suite too.

I think you definitely need this. Your current camera angle is, well, not great. You've got a mic stand right in the front of the frame. I think for a quick edit shot it's fine, but I found myself focused on and distracted by the goddamn mic stand....like, hey, a mic stand....why is it right there?

I agree - I didn't notice it until partway through the shoot! Later on I've moved it out of the way, so I might migrate a later clip to that point.

David, about as thick as your Qld accent in the spoof version!
Get you part done man. I wanna see you in the flick but you'll need to be trenchant.
It a really great beginning to a flick Bubba. Plenty of scope for development too.
JDOD, the BBC NHU? Wow, I didn't know National Health had a video unit. Sorry, seriously the Beebs natural History Unit is THE benchmark.

That's pretty damned cool man .... for a first attempt ..... maybe I need to fool with that some

Thanks, Bob - it's definitely worth a play. Fades, crossfades, trimming clips and nudging all work similarly to Reaper. It all has a very familiar feel. If you DO have a go, I recommend to turn off the "ripple edit" function, at least till you're used to adding and moving clips. It's on by default and what it does is move clips further on in a timeline when you add something new to that timeline. This is annoying when you've spent time cueing up a clip to be perfectly in sync with the audio and it gets shoved along by adding in another clip before it.

Hey tone homies, got some good news to share...and a bunch of pics

Got this today...

Just a case...

...a Gibson Chainsaw case for a 1978 Les Paul Custom Cherryburst!

This thing is ripe with 70s Norlin-era LP goodness!

And the original T-Top pickups.

I haven't dissected it yet, but as far as I know the tuners, pots, bridge, tailpiece, switch, strap buttons, etc are original. Frets are original. The binding nibs are still intact. Ebony fretboard, all the goods of a Custom. The speed knobs are not original, but I'm fine with them anyway. No chips, scratches, or damage. Some belt buckle dings on the back, but no gouges. So yeah, tones to come!
