It's best we don't talk about it in here.
That's about what I thought man, I don't wanna cause any problems anywhere, but especially here at "home" for me (I don't post or really even participate anywhere else but here most of the time)....I hate he got the hammer though, I like Rami, he's always been a good guy toward me....

It's not permanent.
That's good, I just wondered wtf had happened, & I didn't even notice "banned" under his username in his posts....

This thread just keeps on hammerin', over 800 pages now...I remember when we hit 600, now it won't be long 'til we hit 1,000...:thumbs up:.

RAMI, like me, can be snotty and sometimes pushes it too far.
He'll be back ..... prolly a 2 week ban or something like that.

Nah dude, everyone can be like that Bob....It just kinda shocked me as I didn't notice that it said so under his username....

I'll post some clips tomorrow, I've actually been doing some recording the last little while, drum programming, guitar/bass tracks. It actually feels great to have accomplished a few things lately....:)

yay ..... always enjoy your clips
Thanks dude, I'm hoping these clips surprise you guys, not just the guitar tones, the whole shebang. Like I said, I've been busy actually getting some shit accomplished the last little while. I think the health issue thing has kinda woke my ass up a little...I could go on, but I'll shut up...lol...

Gonna throw on the 'phones & try to catch up on the tones that have been posted while I was away....

Well your last project sounded awesome, so I'm sure you'll have some nice surprises in store for us this time around.

Tad: Thanks man, means a lot because I spend a lot of time on this shit....

Just found this vid, I know a lot of you guys won't like it, but this does make me feel better about how I make my music happen. He's basically doing the same thing I do here at the house, with some of the same software (Toontrack)...

The "real" shit starts about the 2 hour mark, & again I know a lot of you guys won't find this interesting at all, but I liked it simply because he's a "big" name artist that does the same shit I do in my spare room.....:).

I've been spending too much time worrying about minute things actually, the vid below has kinda gotten that point through my thick head, especially about my fake drums.....

The guys who use real drums can just pass on by......:laughings:.

Ok guys, here's a clip of a cover I'm working on, everything here is me, except the vocals (obviously...hahaha), but I'm gonna get around to those sometime today....

I originally recorded the guitars with AT4, but re-amped 'em through my DSL & 4x12. I used 2 mics on each guitar track, '57 on the G12H, & 609 on the Greenback. The GB/609 tracks are about 7 db lower than the '57 tracks, & it sounds to me like I got the phase pretty close, & the blend is pretty fair...I also pushed the front end of the DSL with my SD-1, just to tighten it up a hair (even on the red channel, to me, the bottom end can get a little flubby, plus, I'm having fun this morning....:D)...

Lemme know whatcha think, I'll upload another clip or two in a little while....

Signal chain:
LP > interface > re-amp box > SD-1 > DSL >4x12 > '57 & 609

SD-1:

Level: 10
Gain: 0
Tone: 5

DSL100H:

100w mode
OD 1
Resonance: 0
Presence: 7
Bass: 4
Middle: 5
Treble: 6
Volume: 4-5
Gain: 5

Cover Tune #1

Oh yeah, FWIW, I'm fuckin' proud of these drums guys, the tempo map thing is killer IMO for midi drums....

Miner, this is the dogs bollocks. Everything just sounds good. Its not my cup of tea, way too 80s for me, but the whole thing sounds great. The guitars sound tight, and they never disappear, but they're also not even that loud in the mix. Your singing is great, mate ;)

Thanks dude, but that's not me singing, that's a Rock Band multi-track thing man, but everything else is me....I still need to track the vocals, guitar solo, & figure out some kind of synth sound for the pre-chorus part (I do have some sort of a Hammond organ thing in there too....)...To me, the guitars are about right in the mix, I know this is the tone thread, but the guitars are just part of the whole shebang dude....thanks again...

And, I listened to those clips comparing the ISF on your amp, the clip with the compressor pushing the front end is best to me, but they're all kinda murky & too-middy sounding....I think you need to listen the the Gerg, & back off the mids/bass with that amp. From what I remember, my HT-5 was about the same way. It was a little better through a bigger cab/different speaker (I had the 12" combo), but I honestly didn't care for the amp, & got rid of it pretty quick. Maybe I pushed it away without really giving it a proper shot, but it just wasn't what I was after....Keep at it dude...

Yeah, I knew it wasn't you singing really.

Basically, the whole thing sits together really well and sounds like a really good job.

Ok, here's another re-amp with the same setup/settings, but IMO this is too much gain for this song, I'm gonna have to dial the amp in better. Man, the Chupacabra would just "fit" this, but that's not an option anymore....Gotta make due with what I've got though....

miner... I thought these were very good. Going from memory, they sound a bit more scooped than per your usual. And I also thought the gain was maybe a tick too high, especially on the Kiss one.

Dressed To Kill was a frequent flyer on my turntable in the 1970s. The amount of gain seems fine to me...but the guitars are not loud enough... vocals as well. The drums are a bit too beefy if you are trying to copy the original song from 1975.
