I don't know brother, you seem like a pretty cool guy and all. Not sure what is up with your demeanor these days. I hope everything is cool on your end. Life can beat the shit out of us ... Hope all is well.
Nah, I'm fine.

Dude, you got offended earlier today over nothing and more or less gave me the finger for no reason at all, so look at your own "demeanor". It's not my fault if you get offended too easily. But now you're bringing that into this conversation. I simply responded to Bubba's smart-ass comment with a smart-ass comment of my own and so on and so forth.....No big deal. I thought it was over.

Yeah did this today just fucking around with my Phase 90.

I don't remember the settings. I just threw a mic up and let er rip.

That sounds great. Did you turn the phaser on a few seconds after starting? Because my favorite part of it is the sound right when you start playing, before I notice a phaser.

No it was on the whole time. I have the sweep set very slow. I turned it off at :54..

I like the no phaser sound, too. But my favorite part of the clip is still the tone right at the beginning. Maybe what you're playing mixed with wherever the phaser is in its' sweep just come together perfectly for those couple of seconds.

Yeah I really rarely use it. I have one song in the set that gets some phaser, but we don't even always play that song. It's a good little phaser though. One knob, nice and simple.

Greg the Space Rocker!
Very cool sound - does the pedal do stereo?
I re-listened to hear what RAMI mentioned - The clip does have an excellent tone for just rockin' at the beginning but the changes are cool all the way through.
Sounds like the beginnings of a song Greg. Some Danzig era Misfits with the phaser set to stunnnnnn.
I've not recorded my phaser by micing a cab - I guess it's the hassle of setting up a pair as it's a stereo jobbie.
How loud were you playing? Does vol alter the phaser FX at all?

It's nice because it's subtle. Johnny Winter had a phaser fetish for a few albums and I hated that sound, many people liked it. But I found it too much too much often. The amount you have on is just enough.

Thanks Ray.
No stereo from this pedal. The MXR Phase 90 is just a basic little phaser. I do have a stereo flanger. That thing sounds wicked feeding two halfstacks. It'll make you dizzy. :D
And that is a real song. It's "Rocket Ride", one of Ace's KISS songs. Definitely one of their better songs...because it's all Ace.
That was done loud. I think the master was probably around 6. The pedal is in front of the amp, so loudness doesn't affect anything. It's just loud phaser.

That's one thing I wish this phaser could do - adjust the "feedback" of the effect. The only control adjusts the speed of the warble. It is just what it is. On the plus side it's about as much phaser as I'd ever want. Any more phaser effect to me would be way too much.

For reference, I think this is the phaser EVH always used. I'm not sure, but think it is. Shredder guys always see it on my board and flip out. I'm like whatever you fucking tools. :D

Sounds good Gerg, but I am listening through cheap-ass earbuds right now, & everything is bass-heavy (including the tone I'm posting, on my other 'phones/monitors my tone doesn't sound this way, so I know your Ace tone won't either...)...

Signal chain:
LP > interface > AT3 > Recabinet 4 (with some 'verb added in the daw)

I know it's not a real amp, but I am impressed with this, IMO it could be used in a mix pretty easily, lemme know what you guys think....

That sounds pretty good. That's a good cab sim. Sounds pretty real. Good vocals too. :D

Thanks man, more of my Rock Band multi-tracks obviously...:laughings:..Like I said, I'm impressed with Recabinet 4. Plus I only messed with it a little, so I'm sure there are better tones there, just taking the time to find/learn ya know....

All in all, I like this little setup....is it gonna replace my DSL & bastard cab??? No, not even close, but for now, this will work to keep me busy while I get over all this other shit.....

At miner. Not bad. Not bad at all.
:thumbs up:

Glad you're still here.

At greg.
sounds good. And yeah, the mxr is the classic phase pedal. So much that many have tried to emulate it.
:D

That sounds awesome. I know you're not looking for mix comments, but....other than a kind of "woofy" bass drum, this sounds really frickin' good all the way around.

Thanks guys....

RFR: Thanks man, I'm quite impressed with the cab sim that Recab 4 does, & I'm sure it could be better with some more tweaking/fiddling, but for what it is, I think it's pretty good....

RAMI: Those are Rock Band multi-tracks (ogg files) I got from the 'net, that will open right up in Reaper. I use 'em to learn how a guitar/bass tone from a certain song sounds on it's own (for example). The drum sounds on that are what you hear when you open the multi-tracks in Reaper. Now, I have no idea how close these things are to the real studio tracks (I do know they're not studio quality, as there's some aliasing/weird sounds here/there), but if some of these tracks aren't the real artists, somebody has went through an awful fuckin' lot of trouble to sound like these guys (like the vocals on that clip, if that's not Jack Russel (Great White), whoever did that is his fuckin' clone....)...All in all, these things are a great resource for someone like me, as they can be a real help dialing in a certain sound...

Plus on top of all this ampsim shit, I've still got my di's & re-amp box, so I can re-amp 'em later.....:D.

Greg: Did you & your buddy ever get to really sit down with the Ceriatone to see what it's got??? I've been wondering about that for quite a while now...

Hey guys,
The walking dead checking in again here....I'm doing ok, things are just gonna be a lot different for me from now on, but, I'm alive over here.....

Hey minerman. another supporter glad to see you back here and doing better. Once you're all healed up, are you able to get a job at an open pit mine or quarry? I've seen some big ones in Utah from the air.

Here it is sitting in a mix,

What you think?

Are all of the guitars on this the new Tele Beast?

The cleans could use just a little sparkle to them since they carry the first part. Meaning more treble, and maybe a little ambiance effect like a touch of reverb and/or delay. I think that the overdriven part sounds pretty damn good, nice crushing tone there. Sounds tight where it needs to be, loose where it needs to be.

I have a little bit. I need a map for all the switches and two gain knobs. I don't know what he's done with it.

Man you get a great low end. I still haven't posted any of my JCM 2203 tones because as much as I love it in the room, I just haven't spent enough time and experimentation to get an acceptable mic position that translates to "tape". Distortion sounds amazing...was that the hi or lo input? You know you've got a good tone when even a phaser doesn't destroy it :)
