Sweet! I like the pastel green color.

If I owned it....I'd pull those decals off.

anyone into 1980's metal tones

just uploaded a new rhythm tone

KLOPS DRUM /K100
Monster cable
low gain
and the massive Bugera 6262 INF

Thought as much. It's just as bad as the last and are you seriously using a laptops built in mic to record tones?
Dont think i'll be buying any klipperty klop products in the near future.
Of course i'm no expert in metal tones!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, decals are long gone, that's the snapshot I took in GC when I picked it up. :thumbs up:

As to the color, yeah that's the color I chose, I think the other option is white, and I
wanted something more distinctive.

I love the surf green...

I'm not the boss of the tone thread, but my vote goes for putting tone thread trolls in general on ignore.

IMO, this Joey guy pretty much wrecked the place last time he was here, helping to get our thread locked.

And from what I've heard, he was actually banned from Romper Room,
(Harmony Central Amp Forum), quite a feat in itself, if you ask me.

My two cents.

Hi Kip, it is a 2011 and has a regular American Standard two point tremolo and the thinner neck.
I have the bridge set up to float (which is a new experience for me), and it rises about a 1/2 tone if I pull it up.

I had a '65 strat when I was 12 that I sold at age 30, thinking that I could buy new technology if I ever
started playing again. This guitar is everything that one was and more, American Fenders have only improved over the years, IMO.

I'm not a big Fender guy, but that is beautiful! Excellent choice.

Well you better tell me how to put someone on ignore please Sam. Thanks

Hey Sam that guitar is sweet. My best buddy has one. I used to play it back in the 90s when we were in a band together. Only time I ever really liked a strat. Is it called sea foam green or something like that?

Thanks heatmiser & Chuck!

Yeah, Sea Foam Green.

The F&F is awesome, it's pretty much the bomb.

I didn't buy it for the Jeff Beck Monicker,
I went down the list of what I wanted on my guitar
(locking tuners, roller nut, stacked hot HB single coils,
rosewood fretboard, thin "C" neck), and the JB model
just happened to be the one that had all of those features
as standard.

I ordered it at GC on the internet to be delivered to GC for pick-up.

I got if off their dock the morning it came in, they
didn't have a chance for everyone to paw it before I picked it up.

The kids working in there pretty much shit their pants when they saw
it, they insisted on being able to "touch it" before I took it home. :p

You guys look a little, well, um...

When I was a punk rocker (SLC: 1980-82,) we never really got paid,
but we used to get all the free beer we could drink...

We got the door and drafts. Usually around $400-500 lol. About $100 a piece when all was said and done. We were all around 21. My buddies liked the green stuff. I could never touch it. Made me hyperparanoid lol. I stuck with the drafts. It was a cool deal though. Everyone played everything. Everyone sang. We switched it up every few songs.

lol ..... that means when you were born I had just graduated High school and was gigging 6 nights a week!

I'm so freakin' old!

:laughings:

It sounds better if you call it seasoned and 'time tested' or mature or something like that lol

And you're still graduated high school and gigging six nights a week.

Look at us! :wtf:

This is us circa 1990 lol - QUOTE]

Great pic Chuck
All this stuff is making me feel old.

Thanks for the tip Sam. I love the green too. I have an old jhs Coaster strat in a similar colour.
(prolly no where near but i'm colour blind)

New Strats vs. older...I have owned two Strats in my life, an '81 or '82ish and the 2002 I still have. The '80s one was sold around 1991, but I remember two things that sucked on it: The stock tuners were TERRIBLE, the pickups were not that great with distorted tones (though I was trying to play high gain '80s metal with them, lol), and I wasn't crazy about the stock trem or the plastic rectangular case. The case lid never seemed to stay open when I needed it to and the storage compartment inside the case, iirc, had no lid on it. Beautiful finish (cherry sunburst or something) and I loved the neck.

The new one's tuners are awesomely smooth and stay in place, the trem is much better, and I still love Fender necks on both for my small hands and fingers (you know what they say, small hands big....uh wait :( ). I also like the sound of the pups, but I haven't tried to push '80s metal through them. The contoured Fender case is good and better designed, but the lid still doesn't stay up as firmly as I want it to.
