That bloke on the acoustic was quite impressive and it sounded pretty good for something that is so show offy. "

It's a 50w Ceriatone Chupacabra....basically a hot-rodded plexi with an effects loop...Love it!!! I don't know how close it is to a real plexi/super lead, but for me, it kicks some serious ass....

thanks, may give one a try, your toans sound great with it.

Actually, things are going pretty good between us dude, she's a good 'en (so far...lol), & has actually been helping me move, arrange, whatever at the new place....She's gonna keep her pad too, but I'm sure she'll be staying there with me quite a bit...I even gave her the "half-stack" test over the weekend, & so far, so good....I like her a lot, & she seems to like me too, as she keeps coming back....hahaha

I did fuck around with the Chupa for a couple hours this weekend, just trying out different settings, & I've found that if I leave the bright switches centered (off), that it makes it a much thicker, ballsy sounding amp....IMO, the bright switches add too much gain/top end that can't really be dialed out with the treble/presence knobs....The switches are great for low-volume playing though...

I wish I'd recorded some of the tones I was getting this weekend, even with the Bogner pedal ran through the Chupa at a semi-clean setting, it was just awesome sounding in the room....I'm finally "getting" it about that amp dude, & lovin' it more every time I play through it....

Maybe by this weekend, I'll have all my shit set up, & can record some toans...We'll see....

I think I remember liking your clips with all those bright and era switches neutralized. You never posted a bad clip that I can remember, but I think I liked your amp in standard Plexi mode best. One of the mods I did on my 2204 was very gainy and bright. I liked it at first, but it was just way too much at band volumes and was a little too "hairy" for me for recordings. It sounded very Randy Rhoads though. lol. :D

When it comes to visual aesthetics I'd much rather have a Devo wreck than a V or an Explorer.

Actually, reading your posts filled with uncontrolled anger & profanity; looks like she must have got lost to one of us back stage huh? lol

On behalf of all us metal guitarists all over the world, we all sorry, but she was just so willing to please, lol :spank:

dude .......you're totally wrong here ..... get a sense of humor and quit with the idea that if someone makes a joke that must mean they're angry.

Hmmm, I like plenty of punk, grunge, folk, classic rock and metal... I don't know why it has to be either or. I own a Telecaster and Les Paul style Washburn a pointy Ibanez and an accoustic. My guitars probably reflect how my playing style and budget has changed over the years as much as anything else.

I'm sure a Jackson RR, feels great to play, I just think it looks a bit dated. I think my Ibanez looks dated but I still like playing on it!

I'm gonna post some re-amps I did over the weekend I'd forgotten about, nothing special, just me fucking around with my different speakers as usual....Gimme a few minutes...

actually personally I like ALL guitars including pointy ones.

I was just making a joke about them because it's a long running joke here.

But I don't have a clue why anyone would get mad because someone else likes or doesn't like a type of guitar or a player.
Greg hates Hendrix who I adore. lol .... who cares?
It's a silly thing to get mad about .

Exactly Bob...I don't wanna see this thread get all shitty like lots of 'em do on the internet....to me, this is THE thread....period....

Toans coming in a minute or two...uploading 'em to Dropbox right now....

Are people still getting the butthurts on the internet? HaHa.

These pointy guitars are hilarious. Custom jobs i think for the band, no idea who did them. But everytime i hear the term "pointy guitar" in this thread. This is is the picture i see in my head.

I really can't remember the amp settings, these are just off the top of my head, but they are the same for all these clips....If you listen, you can hear the high end fizz I was talking about earlier....These don't sound bad, but they're not great by any means....

Speakers are getting broken in a little more, & starting to loosen up too....

Post some toans!!!!!

Not surprisingly (to me) The Greenback killed in that little shootout IMO. I do hear a little fizz in the clips, not bad at all, but damn homie, turn that presence down. That might be some of your fizz. I usually hardly run any presence for recording. It's great live, but for close-mic recording it can sometimes give you some harshness up in the 9-10k region depending on the speaker. They all sound good though. I'm really liking your G12H30 and I can hear it softening up compared to your earlier clips with it.

That is Awesome! Would be a fun time. I hear Joey Cape is a riot when trying to do his stairway to heaven routine!

I saw them at a festival so they only played around 45 minutes. It was really good though. Fat Mike was the star of the show. And their matching outfits. So silly. Good fun.

holy crap those are awesome!!!

Yeah that whole band is awesome. Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. They're a semi "supergroup" that does punk rock versions of classic songs and all of their albums have some kind of theme. Like one will be country songs, one pop songs, diva songs, showtunes, etc.

holy crap those are awesome!!!

Yes they are. I remember reading somewhere a couple years ago they were made specifically for them. the guys name has left me. I suppose it doesn't matter. I also don't know they even tour with those things anymore or even used them at all. I did some youtubing. No Video evidence was found just the odd live photo here and there. No Biggie.

For gimmick and schtick, mission accomplished.
