I have the following Digital Devices.

Digi 003
Beri-ADA8000
Art Digital MPA.

Currently I run the ADA8000 via ADAT and the MPA over SPDIF and set the 003 as the master and the other two as the slave.

From what I understand the ADA8000 has the best clock of them all.

Should I set the ADA8000 to clock over ADAT then take the word clock out (COAX) from the DIGI003 and send to the Word Clock in on the ART Digital MPA?

Will that work since it is not a Word Clock Thru?

I would doubt that given the age of the chip used in the Behri, but what really matters is the quality of the clock recovery circuits in the slaved units. I would be inclined to clock off the 003 for playback and the ART for recording, but really I would do whatever is easiest.

I had an ada8000 for a while and while I agree, the wordclock circuitry is an old design, it was far more stable than many of the other pieces of gear I had at the time. It surprised me actually...

These days I use a Lucid word/super clock, whatever model number it is (I can't see it because it's on the floor behind most of my studio gear).
