When you replied to Toonsmith's "Noise Problems" thread and said he should record another dog and reverse the phase,
it got me thinking...
I have a very limited computer recording setup.
I'm still using the original soundcard until I can save up for something decent.
Anyways, this card picks up EVERYTHING from the computer.
It picks up the fan noise, the disk drive noise, everything!
My noise floor was -24 dB!
So, I tried recording two tracks simul. from the stereo ins
one track right channel with a guitar, one track left with no input.
I was left with:
Track 1: Guitar and noise
Track 2: noise only
So I reversed the phase of Track 2 and viola!
I'm now at -48dB whch is still terrible but at least now I can play around without all the noise.
I just record stereo and mix them down.
