I love that pool as well..:D

Especially when youre freezing balls in the UK!!!!

I will think kindly of you while Im sweating on my walk to the beach in the AM!

As for that Tele....... I used to have a MIJ reissue like that, the rosewood was so worn down in 1st position that I ended up unloading it. Even though it had issues, It was a great guitar.

SAJS,
Nice pool-could have done with one of those this summer. Scorching here in Melbourne.

Thanks for the kind words. I live in Florida, just about everyone has a pool.

I have a Highway One Tele, which is one of my go-to guitars. It's not particularly fast, but it is forgiving. It's also my best solid body for impersonating an acoustic (think "Pinball Wizard")- Richie

The Highway 1s are amazing, we've two in the house right now. Love em.

Here it is:

Beautiful, really nice binding. How much that set ya back?

My main Tele is a kit guitar-but the fact that I built it myself and added better pickups and switching to make it very versatile-makes it one of the favorite ones whether its for recording or gigs. It feels so solid without the Strats whammy bar and the whammy's tuning problems-and it cuts through a live mix at a gig in a way a Les Paul can't-my opinion-yours may vary.

And the simplicity is a plus to me-3 great sounds and master volume and tone-spend your time playing not switching....;)

A friend did a psycho photoshop of a picture of the Tele.....

i dig telecasters, i like the thinlines with H-H configurations, i almost bought a squier master series with a chambered body, it had boss tone.

Love my Tele Plus but then again I've only ever acquired guitars that I feel that way about.

I'll have to post some pics... I am the proud owner of a JD Tele and a unique bird called a "Telesonic". Its basically a telecaster with a pair of Gretsch style pickups in it... I LOVE the thing.

Teles - Dirt simple rock and roll (and of course country) machines. You can't get much better than that. And can you Stax if "The Colonel" Cropper hadn't played one?

One of the few designs where Leo didn't do something that was too clever to be good (other than the jack cup, of course). Really, as much of a genius as he was, some of the time he just went for clever, and it wasn't good. Think the trem on Jazzmasters, or the pickup covers on J and P basses.

I've got a '78 Thinline Tele. If you told me that I had to get rid of all my guitars except one, this is the one I would keep. Bought it used in the mid
90's from a dealer I was doing a lot of business with at the time. He took it on a trade and called me as he knew I was looking for a Thinline and had actually committed to buy an new Thinline RI he had in the store. I A-B'd it against the RI and it was no contest. It has the original Seth Lover humbuckers and has that "swamp tone" in spades. Also a couple of unusual things about it. The solid maple neck has wide low frets like an old Les Paul "fretless wonder", and the body is black with a tortoise shell pickguard. I've never seen a Fender with this fret wire before and as far as I can tell it's original. Being a big fan of Thinlines I've also seen and played a bunch over the years and never seen a black one with tortoise shell. Maybe one of our "experts" on the BBS could comment?

The only thing I would change (and probably will eventually, but I haven't had the guts to do it yet) is that the neck & fretboard has that damn heavy lacquer finish on it that makes bending a real fight. I'll post some pic's later.
