OK, after hearing so many cool techno songs, I had to give it a shot.

Drums - Canned SD2 - I don't do much with them, just drive the beat and the groove is from the box.
DI LTD EG on Right side/Cheap Amazon Strat on Right- Waves Amp sim on both.
Plugin on the Pianoish sound from Ableton
Plugin on the drum machine
UBX played in real time on three channels.
Ableton Plugin Synth Bass - Thinking of adding in a my stringed bass, not sure yet.

This is the first test of mixing with my ARC EQ plugin, so please let me know how is the mix out there in the wild.

Song is as much of a test, so you can't hurt my feelings. But sound/mix feedback is appreciated.

Well, it ain't techno but it's really good. Yes, the tune is about how that big, grand swagger moves - that's the star - but that interesting twiddly stuff you got going on in the middle is getting drowned out, which is a shame, because it's the counterpoint to the main groove. Bring it out more. You should do more 'techno' 😎.

Disclaimer: earbud listen.

I will be honest, that is my UBX and I was cautious about being too aggressive with it. Ya know, like make everyone look at your new shoes ;)

Thanks a bunch for the listen and feedback.

Nothing wrong with new shoes. Let the little fellows shine.

Nice track, it's almost Dream Pop, genre-wise. I really like the little melodic squeals and flourishes. By "UBX" is that the Behringer Oberheim clone?

Mix-wise it would probably benefit from some balancing (pink noise reference mixing) to make each part more audible in its dominant frequencies, but a very pleasant composition and arrangement, indeed.

Thanks for the listen/feedback. My first swing was to see if I could get a decent balanced mix and to check how the translation is working. There are a few areas that need major tweaking. Intro being the first, and then to your point, the finer details of the mix.

Thanks for the input.

A few tweaks. My one major concern is, is this too bright?
