TASCAM US-600 digital inputs

In the process of transferring DAT to CD, I've connected my Sony A6 digital in & out to the digital in & out of my US-600. I'm using Cubase as my DAW. I've used the Tascam panel to activate the digital input, started a mastering project in Cubase, and under device setup have activated inputs 5 & 6 as digital inputs. In the Cubase track, I've got Stereo 2, which is what I assigned the digital to. All this, and still no sound coming through the US-600 to Cubase. Help! Thanks!

Have you got the us 600 Sample Clock set to "Automatic"? P19, this should be so as it is the default state.

It's been a while since I messed with the US600. Are you familiar with Cubase? Have the monitor icon selected on the stereo track?

Could possibly be something in the Control panel for the US600 too. I'm kind of pulling at straws here....
