I have been doing home recordings with a tascam us-144 and recently was given a Bellari rp220

The only way I can connect the mic's to my computer is through a USB cable running from the us-144, so, is it bad to run the mic through the Bellari out to the tascam out to my computer?

From what I understand the tascam is already a mic pre, though solid state, but i dont know if this is going to effect the sound in any real way.

I have been messing around with it and so far things seem fine, but I would like to know if I am wasting a perfectly good micpre by doing this.

also, is there a better way to get from the bellari to my comp without spending a huge ton of money? ...this is the only reason why i still use the tascam...

thanks

Sell the Bellari and use the money for an upgrade elsewhere...you dont need it and it it will only degrade your signal.

is that really the best thing? Surely this pre can be of SOME use no??!?

No...they are noisy...just be glad you didnt waste money on it...but you can sell it and get money for something better...and that is good...Craigslist is your friend...you can sell it quick there...and you might even find something good used...its a good buyers market right now.
