OK, I just got a Tascam FireOne for some home recording . I'm trying to aslo use it to send MIDI signals to my Laptop.
I have an old ART X11 foot controller, which I want to use to control SooperLooper
I'm using a Mac with OS/X.
When I plug the MIDI cable from the ART to the MIDI In on the FireOne, well I'm not getting much of anything through. Occasionallt the MIDI IN light on te FireOne will flash red. Occasionally MIDI monitor (snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/) will show some traffic...but not reliably and not really consistantly.
Note I'm using MIDI Patchbay (notahat.com/midi_patchbay) to set up a patch from "FireOne MIDI" to "sooperlooper_in"
I've used the ART to send PC messages to another device before so the device and the cable seem to be working....
I'm afraid that for a brand new (<24 hours) device that the MIDI IN or something else is broken but I'm not sure how else to test or configure it
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Jay
