 Hi Studiodee calling
I have a Tascam DM3200 digital mixng board along with the Motu MK3 2408, I want to work them both together. New at this digital domain world. I need to know which is better, 1. to put all keyboard and modules, outboard gear, etc in the 2408,and then go out of the 2408 into the mixing board. Or #2 put everthing into the mixing board and then go out of the mxer to the 2408. I am also using Sonar 5 pro. I also know the key is the routing on theDM3200 Can someone out there please help me with some sugesstions. I am also having problem with exactly where to put my monitors in the DM versus the 2408. Very confused about this. Everything is working it's just what is a better connection. and how to do this routing.

I have the DM24

What I would suggest is to plug everything into the DM3200. Then you can use it for monitoring and save your CPU or any latency issues that can arise from monitoring through Sonar.

I own a dm3200 and also the 2408mk3 and I hook up everything into the mixer. That way you can route whatever signal (mic, keyboard, guitars) into whatever output you want. And, I use DP4.5 and it lets me route signals there as well. Oh man, I love the routing system on the dm3200. Have your monitors hooked up from the dm3200 as well. The dm3200 is your main area of work....not the 2408. Control everything from the dm3200.

If the two are connected via tdif then I would just connect all your line level stuff to the motu and save the DM inputs for mics. Once you have the 3 tidf lines hooked up the motu just becomes more inputs into the DM and you should be able to route between the two freely. Monitors should go into the mixer btw
