tascam 388 manual + tape

hi,
so i made the leap from pro tools + mbox to a tascam 388 and couldn't be more psyched. i'm totally new to tape though and was wondering if anyone had the manual in pdf (and felt like sharing..) -- buying one on ebay for $50 just seems weird. please let me know.
also, what tape do you guys recommend for the 388?

You really should be on the Analog Only forum. It's the place to be (for TASCAM) and we often discuss the various aspects of the 388.

The tape to use is Maxell ud 35-90 (on eBay only) or Quantegy 407 which can be had new. It is still in production.

It's not the wrong forum! It's the right forum! 388's are very topical here!

cjacek was implying that there may be more specific posts on the 388 and/or analog expertise in the Analog forum, where your post may get more views than here. Analog seems more 'specialized' nowadays, y'kno'ai'mean? True analog 'geeks' probably frequent more there than here. However, the 388 is fair game on the Tascam forum or Analog forum.

I like Tascam/Analog, so I check both boards a lot.

The 388 is an exciting box to have/use. It's a niche product, now more than ever!
