Hello.

The soldering points where the reel motors connect on the PC board (TP-S47-T) for my Tascam 38 appear to be damaged. Two of the small metal pieces that adhere to the circuitry board, which allows the motor's soldered wires to hold, have come off. I cannot solder a connection any more. Is there a way to repair this? Will I have to find a replacement PC board? Advice?

Many thanks,
JC

Scrape the green foil on the affected traces down to the copper with a razor blade or knife. Then solder thin buss wire from a good point on the copper to the metal contacts you’re trying to repair.

Buss wire is available at Radio Shack.

additional info... when/if you decide to do this... when you clean the traces pre-solder the lines... called tinning... then remove most of that solder... it helps to get a good connection... also use a modestly heated pencil iron too much heat can lift traces....

Beck & DementedChord---Many thanks! I will give this a try!
