Hey guys,

The little knob (as per the picture) sort of came off after becoming a bit loose. It seems that the little "screw" that holds the knob to the metal thing won't keep it in place. Is there a tool that I can use to tighten it ?

Thanks :)

Daniel

You picture is not clear enough to show if the screw is a normal slot type, which would require a small jeweler's slot screwdriver to tighten back or, a hex screw that would require the appropriate hex driver, ( sometimes called an Alan key), to tighten it back up.

Either way, a trip to any decent hardware store or even Radio-shack, would stock the appropriate tool.

Cheers! :)

It looks like a little hex set screw to me (Which you can buy very inexpensivly for a whole set or even just borrow one), but is the knob plastic? I ask because obviously that could strip out if you over tighten it (Unless it's in like a theaded collar that's set into the plastic, or unless it threads into the pot shaft, but I doubt that).

I think it'll be fine if you just tighten back on.

The knob itself is made out of plastic.

I don't know if the screw has a brass inlay sleeve so as to prevent stripping the plastic. You would have to turn the screw all the way out to see.

I brought the photo into my Photo-Draw program and brightened up the screw for more detail and it is a hex set screw, not a slot screw.

Cheers!:)

Thanks Jeff and Billy! Yeah, upon closer inspection (not too clear even with close-ups) it seems that it is just a hex screw. I'll see if I have a tool like this at home and if not then it's to radio shack! :)

Thanks for the prompt reply guys!

Daniel

A set screw is a fine example of Tascams attention to detail back in the day.

:)

You need a hex wrench. Its going to be metric and the size is probably 1.5 or 2 mm
