Tascam 308B PFL oddity

Recovering Gear-aholic
I have dusted off my 308B and am trying to address some of the gremlins it has acquired.

>>>I really need to flip it over, crack it open, and clean all the pots and reseat all the cards, but from the first power up....

When I press and of the Pre-fader listen (PFL) buttons, I get an audible *pop* in the headphones and the left master meter momentarliy pegs, then settles back. The PEAK led on the left meter stays lit however.
I do not recall this behavior from when I was more activeyt using this mixer, but then I rarely used the PFL function.

Is this normal? It would not seem that the *pop* and peg are. Any 308 user comments?

Sounds like DC getting through...dirty contacts, bad blocking cap or caps...dunno. I wouldn't get to excited about it until you've had a chance to clean contacts and re-seat things.

Do you have to power off the mixer to get that peak LED to revert to off?

No, just de-selecting all the PFL switches makes it go off...with a *pop* and momentary meter peg to match.

I'm gonna tear into it this weekend if time permits
