I'm pretty new to this, so I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. Anyway, I was playing back a reel of audio on my Teac A-7300 and it started making this really annoying squeaking/squealing noise. It was coming from the tape moving through the player (not the belts or anything inside the player), and residue was being scraped off of the tape around the guide rollers (and the tape was starting to look scratched). Does anyone know how to prevent it from doing this? I don't want to damage the tape. Also, I was under the impression that the dull side of the tape was supposed to be down (inwards toward the middle of the reel), but this one has the dull side up. So I tried putting the tape on the reel dull side down, but then no audio was being played back around the same place on the tape that played audio when the dull side was up. Thanks for any help.
