Im kinda new to this audio recording thing, Im trying to lay down tracks from my MPC 2000 to audition, and i dont have midi or smpte, which i dont even know what they do but I think its something with timing. Anyway Im laying the tracks down individually and I cant get them to time up right, what im basically doing is recording the loops like samples and then just set them to repeat. I cant get it to loop the way the MPC loops. Even when I record whole minutes of each track they dont sync up when i arrange them, like the timing is off, which doesnt make sense cuz theyre all the exact same times on the MPC. Can anybody help me with this?
It's a skill that's developed over time to see where the loop seams are in a one-minute recording. My advice is to let the loop play just once, then stop the MPC right away. That will give you a good visual reference as to what represents a single cycle of the loop. You should be able to trim it from there so that it loops properly. If not, no harm done - just try it again.
