Syncing audio tracks

It wasn't quite a question, it was more an expression of puzzlement. I am just struggling to understand why disabling the audio device could possibly solve your problem...

Did you have another audio device, perhaps? Maybe something built in to the motherboard? And that's what you disabled? Then that might make some sense to me. The two devices might have been conflicting...

I have NT 4 here (at work) with an SB PCI 64V audio card... being NT, it might not be arranged identically to Win98 -- but I have no "wave audio device" at all listed under the Media Control Devices branch. There is a (MCI) Sound entry, but it has no "do not use this device" setting...

When searching for Cakewalk tweaks I often come across this subject to change or disable this when using win 95 or 98.

For example this link: (scroll down where it talks about media control)
http://www.midiguy.com/MGSequencer/MgSequencer.html

However, I selected "do not use..." rather than changing the defalt 9 seconds to 2 seconds, and I believe this has caused a driver not being loded that is required for my cd writer. So I will try the slider there to the left (2 seconds).

I believe this has an effect because the audio seemed to be glitching about 9 seconds into the recording which is what the default setting is.
