Hi...

Yesterday, I tried to synch my Zoom 123 to my new Akai DPS16 (with the Zoom as a "slave"). Got the Zoom to play when I hit "Play" on the Akai, but the drum machine is out of synch with the metronome on the Akai. I followed the instructions in the Akai and Zoom manuals, and set my Time Code, Beat Code, etc. on the multi-track machine. Obviously, I'm doing something wrong. Can anyone offer advice? Step-by-step directions would be appreciated! Thanks..BobO

I don't know if you've already solved your problem...

and I don't even know what a Zoom is but I DO know that in my setup (Akai deeps 16 and a Triton) that when they are synched up the triton never goes to "real" 1:00:000. It goes to 1:00.048 which obviosly results in out-of-synchedness. However all I do is put a measure of silence in at the beginning and everything works out fine.

Hope this helps

That was a very good post, plus it should help solve the problem. The extra measure gives the machines time to communicate. ;)

Thanks for the reply, ditnoj! I figured out my problem...when I "Rewind" to 00:00 on the DPS16, I was forgetting to re-set the pattern on the drum machine. As a result, when I hit "Play" on the DPS16, the drum machine was starting in the middle of its pattern. I found that if I just hit "Stop" on the Zoom 123, it re-sets it to the beginning of the pattern, and everything is cool.

I also tried synching up my other drum machine (an Alesis SR-16), and that was fine, except for the problem you mentioned...the first note doesn't play. But, as you do, I usually have a few measures of "click track" before I begin my songs.

Thanks again...BobO.
