Hey guys,

This is my first song recorded 100% with the PC. I used Sonar X1 via Cakewalk UA1G interface, amplitube2, FL Studio for drums using EZDrummer (haven't figured out how to setup EZ on Sonar, I want it like how it is on FL). Final mixdown was done on FL Studio 9. The free plugins aren't that sophisticated though.

Anyway, this song is called Sundown. It's a bluesy type of song. I need your input on EQ, Mixdown, tone, levels etc...The more specific the better!

Thanks guys!

First off, i like the track. It has some cool vibes in there. With that said, that high hat in the left side is a bit bothersome. Maybe bring it down some and bit more center. The bottom end is kinda muddy too IMO. Maybe try to cut some low mids and make a better space for the bass/kick drum respectively. cool jam though, good work!

Thank you for listening! I'm just starting to figure out how to tweak settings on EZ, I'll get on it with your suggestions. Will try to add more clarity and separation on the low end.

Thanks again! Stay tuned!

Man everything's so much easier on the computer! Here's the latest version, I moved the hats more to the center and lowered the volume a bit. I also adjusted the eq a little.

Problem though is I can only fix EQ on the final mix on FL since I have all the guitars as one track. I could tweak the individual tracks on Sonar but then I'd have to import it again as a wave file, open it in FL and redo the whole mix. So, I'm just trying to fix it right on FL and see if that works.
