I use ver. 1.5 and would like to see the following improvements.

My first suggestion is quite simple. There are currently three tabs in the work area window, “Edit View”, “Multitrack View”, and “CD Project View”. I would like to see a forth and fifth tabs added.

One could be “Mixer View” and the other could be user assignable for any other window the user wants. (This could even be made to include automatic temporary tabs which pop up for any opened windows until they are closed.)

My second suggestion concerns temp files and saving. If I record a live band for an hour or more using several tracks simultaneously, the temp files grow quite large. Even though I use two parallel temp folders, they can consume up to half of my available disc space and take a long time to save to disc after recording. I need a way to record direct-to-disc without using any temp files at all. That way, when the band takes a break, I don’t have to spend the entire break naming and saving files. (If you can’t do that, then at least give me a “batch save” command so I don’t have to baby sit for twenty minutes while saving 24 files.)

Anyone else?

Thanks,
RawDepth

Asio is about the only thing that stands out in my mind, and better midi control.

lack of Asio support is what is hindering me from using Audition full time. Anybody think they will ever support it? Seems to me they are miles behind without it.

Sucks, because I have always thought that CEP/Auditions interface has always been one of, if not the best around.

RawD - when you install the program, it asks you where you want the temp folders to be. Is there an option to have no temp folders at all? I forget. Cuz if that's the case, then before a gig with a lot of non-stop music, you could re-install the program (doesn't take long) without temp folders.

Anybody?

There's no way to record in Audition without using temp files, then saving. For live concert work, if this is a serious problem, record with something like Kristal simply as a way of getting the tracks onto the drive, then do the rest in Audition.

The only trick I've heard which can help is that you record for ten seconds, save the files, then go back to the beginning and over-write them with the real thing. Then after the concert, when you save, you won't have to keep clicking ok for each file. Try that at home first - I think I've got the procedure right...

Actually the other trick is to kill Audition after recording, then rely on its recovery facility to get the stuff back at your leisure back at base. This sounds suicidal but I've heard of one guy who does that all the time with no problems. That suggestion carries a health warning, ok?!

Aux Sends - See mixing board

Subgroups that work correctly - By this I mean just like a channel but other audio is assigned to them and then you can effect the audio on the sub group. Seems easy buit they can't get it right. Go look at a mixing board guys.

Volume curves that aren't pre effects - That way it doesn't screw up drumagog when I want to make a snare track 2 db quieter in one part.

Effects on the master bus - I would like to hear what a limiter would sound like and make the needed changes before I mix down.

MultiTrack Export - I want to be able to have all my tracks start at a specific marker and then be exported to individual files in the format of my choosing ALL AT ONCE.

Option to make channel EQ post effects.

Better implementation of "mixer view" - Make it look better and react less sluggishly

More efficeient processor usage please!!!!!!

timboZ – I don’t think I am welcome there but, thanks anyway.

dobro – I don’t think the software will allow no temp file. It will probably create a default one anyway.

ozpeter – They are some unique ideas. Thanks, I’ll give them a try.

aaroncomp – Thanks man, but it is too late, I already started this one.

I'm sure you would have been, but you did crash in rather heavily. If you wanted ou could start again there with your head down a bit to begin with - but there's only so many hours in the day for forums!

OZpeter, I just sent you a PM explaining this mishap.
