The TB1 is a neutral sounding mic compared to the TB3. The TB3 and the TB1 do not sound anywhere as nics as our mic. The ASM B-1 is a mic that is not made in china, or the US. It is actually made between the two!

I would venture to say that the ASM B-1 tramples both the TB1 and the TB3 and costs far less than you would expect a professional LDC to cost!

Anyone seen the Levitra commercial where that women tells you all about how her "man" bangs the shit out of her twice a day now that he takes Levitra. I feel ill after that one. (I realize this has nothing to do with mics or recording)

Wow, wasn't it you who accused us of having many of the reviewers and posters on HR on our payroll. You must have accused us of this at least 10 times.

I have my own opinions of how far you will go to pimp your products... and I'm sure others here do too. Sometime's I wish I could see the ISP numbers of some posters who I believe may be using more than one user name on HR.com... but I can't, so I won't say anything more.

Ya' know, DJL, no one brings me more smiles and laughter (probably in unintended ways) than you do in this forum, and I mean this in the best possible way. No sarcasm intended. You really do have your own unique set of logic, evident in many of your posts, which I actually look forward to on days when I need a lift. When I see a SP thread start, my first thought is: ok, how will DJL spice this thread up?

So, I'll play along--I apologize to Alan and SP for suggesting the possibility that they might be paying you for so effectively highlighting their products in so many mic threads. But you're doing a great job as an unpaid volunteer.

That said, I need to get back to recording with the two SP B1s that I consider an absolute steal for the measly $79 I paid for each. I accept that they're not Neumans, but they're sweet as pie for a serious home recorder like me.

This is confusing... You said "In PMI Audio's defence... The C1 is the bomb! I've had it for a few days and compared to my Beyer M500 ribbon mic it's holds its own rather well.

This just proves you don't know shit. The current U87ai is one of the worst mikes outside of the TLM103 Neumann ever made. The older U87's were much better when they used the old K67 Capsules. Any good engineer will tell you that you have to EQ the U87 to make it sound worth a damn.

That does not mean all the Neumann mikes suck. They make a lot of very good mikes. What it tells me is you have never used a U87 in a real recording application. If you did, then you would know the specific weakness of it, and take the T3.

I think most people know Marshall, Behringer, Studio Projects, Nady, and etc are all fighting for the same market and only wish they had a reputation for high-end mics like Neumann, Microtech Gefell, Earthworks, Brauner, and etc.
