Hey.. You forgot the 797 Audio part there...
lol... no I didn't... they are pro Studio Projects not pro 797 Audio/Studio Projects... lol. :)

bgavin - i know what you mean, but then i don't often find someone like h2oskiphil much more help than DJL. i'd rather read it and moderate in my head. i don't tend to swear as much now as i used to

DJL - thanks for telling us why you ask. My point is that you'd save us all lots of trouble if you weren't so coy with your questions! Also, lots of people have had very positive experiences of SP stuff, that's why they're 'pro' it. If someone buys a duff mic from a brand they trust, they'll be happy to have it sorted out. If your AKG or Neumann busts, you won't stop buying their mics will you??

No, but there is more to it than just that... which I'd rather not go into again because I don't want to stur up the hornets... with that said, I'll just wait to hear what PMI tells skeelsd. But thanks noisedude... in my book your a good person. :)

Thanks! I try - I've certainly calmed down since my early posts last year! If there's a thread with your original issue in it, feel free to PM but I won't chase it if you wanna leave it!!!

DJL-

All verbal sparring aside, I'd be VERY interested to hear what caused you to do such a complete turnaround on PMI/SP products. IIRC, weren't you right in the middle of the B1 "matched pair" discussion?

Not flaming, not baiting...just want to know.

Alan sent me a very unprofessional and rude PM telling me that he would NEVER help me and etc, etc. So after having problems with some of my 797A/SP mics and knowing that PMI would never help me... I sold the mics. Those of you who have been here long enough to know how Alan can go-off might be able to guess how unprofessional and rude the PM was that he sent me. Anyway, there now you know.

OK. If you've made your decision, fair enough. But I would suggest not to cut your nose off to spite your face etc ... and you could always post repairs under a pseudonym ... ;)

I think everyone should just kiss and make up, eh? :D

What's done is done... however, someday I might get some C4's... but I want to wait until I know they have all the bugs worked out... as many people already know, (or the last I heard) Brent Casey is still working on the C4 to make it better... plus, I will have to audition the C4's before I buy them... and they would have to blow the Behringer B5 away.

CanopuS, I could forgive Alan if he was to apologize to me here in public, since this is public info now.

PS... sorry Han, but it was obvious they were not going to give up asking until I answered the question... and they most likely won't stop flaming me anyway, but at least now they have the answer.

EDITED: Spelling... but most likely missed some, oh well.

cheeky scamp ... how's being back at school?? being back at uni is ... well .... like being on holiday still!:D

DJL - I wasn't trying to make you tell me and I suggested you PM! Your mic-buying policy is sound, but I hope you are equally strict with all mics or you could end up with some stinkers of any other brand!

Well, being back at school.... not great....

I have my first GCSE in 10 days. Whoops!

Yeay! Enjoy it ... let us now how you do. Sounds like you're getting As all round anyway.

Originally posted by skeelsd SP folks very apologetic. Hopefully, will have it back soon and let on to the problem(s).
Originally posted by skeelsd Hey Brent. Encouraging to see you are reading these post. R. Hargrove sent the mic out of Knoxville, TN. That help? What was/is the malfunction?
Originally posted by skeelsd I'll be sure to pass along the information when I get it myself.
and it's now 04-23-2004 (and you sent the mic in to be fixed at least 10 days before you posted this thread)... that's a long time ago. So skeelsd, what happened with your 797 Audio/Studio Projects B1 mic... have you gotten it back yet? What did they tell you the problem was? Thanks

DJ,

You seemed to conveniently leave out the facts that Brent Casey still hadn't received the mic as of the 14/04..........for all we know the sender is still sitting on it or it is still in transit.

Hey skeelsd... ausrock thinks you've been sitting on your 797 Audio/Studio Projects B1... I wonder if PMI will tell you that's why the 797 Audio/Studio Projects B1 crapped out... lol.

skeelsd, do you have a tracking number?

DJ you dickweed............go back and read the first page of this post, the mic is supposed to have been shipped by R. Hargrove who from a subsequent post IS NOT skeelsd.

Why do call people names? And why does any of this matter to you anyways?

FTR, the mic was purchased by another party on my recommendation visa vis this forum. The mic was sent regular mail which would explain the time delay. Since the purchase initially proved a bust, I feel some responsibility given it was my idea. As far as I know, the buyer has not heard from SP, but Brent may have info concerning the situation which I would expect he could post here. I'm sure the problem will be rectified to everyone's satisfaction.

I'm not near as upset as some because the mic did'nt cost $500.00, even $250.00. It is what it is, an inexpensive mic that offers a level of professional quality (the level of which can be debated further). As I said, I have no dog in this hunt...I was merely disappointed after reading such good stuff about it here.

What I find humorous is my initial posting chided me for airing out SP dirty laundry on this forum. Seems what goes around comes around. I have found the postings entertaining, however. I will post when I hear from R. Hargrove (in regular contact).

We have more pressing issues at the moment than a $100.00 mic (I think he paid less actually). We are entering the studio this summer, so I hope to have better grasp on the mic. We used it for a rehearsal and I thought it performed to expectations until it crapped out.

I understand folks here have other issues and that's fine. But I'm sure everyone would like to know what's going on w/the mic...not so much when...but what caused the problem in the first place.
